11/26/05: Turkey Bowl IX saw another great turnout, with several "second-generation" Turkey Bowlers in attendance (see photo above.) Joe's new golf simulator and several comfy chairs threatened to keep the action indoors, but the weather outside was just too nice. We played three games (two of which were, ahem, two-hand touch) and realized once again that the field, the grass, the wind and the ball had once again gained speed over the last year (there's no way that we are getting slower - that damn ball must run wind sprints in its time off.) This year was the first time we had video footage of Turkey Bowl, and we are looking forward to posting that on the site if and when Stromy can figure out his camera (geez, the guy's only a doctor, give him a break, those cameras are tricky...) Thanks very much to Bree Housley for taking the photos that appear on this page! Also: We are taking up a special collection for red no-contact jerseys to prevent future injuries to two of our favorite Turkey Bowlers: Steve and Dustin. (Click on their names for the proposed designs).

Above: We watched some football... on the golf simulator. Right: Joe must be in marketing. Why else would he put his daughter on a pop machine? |
