As many of you know, our good friend and stalwart Turkey Bowler Evan Gettert passed away this June, 2005. While it was of course great to see everybody at Turkey Bowl IX, a number of people remarked that it was not the same without Evan. He embodied the spirit of Turkey Bowl- fun, sport, and togetherness.
Even though Evan was suffering from cancer and undergoing chemotherapy last November, he came out to last year's Turkey Bowl and was once again the star, running us old guys all over the field. He was very much missed this year, and will be at every future Turkey Bowl.
